Out with the old and in with the new. 2016 was the year of the contouring craze and coconut oil takeover, but now it’s time to reveal the upcoming beauty trends set to take 2017 by storm.

Strobing

Although contouring is still big in 2017, strobing is quickly becoming the desired technique amongst the catwalk. Strobing consists of finding the areas on your face where the light naturally hits and using a highlighter to lightly enhance those areas.

Microblading

It’s time to say goodbye to the in-your-face overly filled eyebrows and welcome back the natural fuller brow in all its glory. This year it’s time to give microblading, the latest brow trend a go.

Bold lips

Thanks to Kylie Jenner last year saw the rise of the lip kits and over drawn liner. This year lips will continue to be a massive trend – the bolder the better. With feathered edges, metallic, ombre and glitter making a comeback.

Cut crease eye make-up

For many of us the smokey eye is the ultimate got- make-up look when we’re planning to hit the town, but cut crease eyeshadow will give it some major competition this year. Switching up your usual neutral blended eyeshadow with a cut crease design will make your old shadows feel like new.

Chrome nails

Furry and layered nails were just two of the crazy nail trends from 2016. Chrome nails will be big this year, with colourful and bold styles being popular.

Blurred lips

Robin Thicke bought to us Blurred Lines and now the beauty world is giving us blurred lips. If you have to rush your make-up on the bus en-route to work then this look will work perfectly for you. So look out for the grunge smudged lips effect taking over the beauty world.

Glitter forever

Go crazy with glitter, it isn’t just for festivals. Scatter it across your bottom lash-line or at the tops of you’re cheeks, or just anywhere you fancy. The less perfect it looks the better.

Freckles

If you’re blessed to have cute defined freckles then your sorted for this trend. That’s right freckles will be a huge make-up statement this year, they can be drawn or even stuck on.
