The recently revamped store opened its doors last week unveiling a new luxurious and sophisticated look. Here is what to expect and why you should be going along for a visit!

The world renowned department store first opened in Knightsbridge in 1831, and has since expanded globally. The Mailbox store is the first to be designed in association with Virgile and Parters and will be the model for all future interior store design. The theme of the new design is “controlled disruption” featuring eclectic mixes of materials and an unusual floor layout. The lack of structured walkways, typically found in other department stores, is what sets this store aside – there is more freedom for exploration.

Digital technology has played a vital role in the modernisation of the store. Queuing for tills is a thing of the past, with the store’s new payment system via portable iPads. A state-of-the-art 360 degree mirror has been installed in the Style Concierge area which allows you to see your whole outfit without having to crane your neck!

Cleverly, the refurbished store is all on one floor so you don’t need to be traipsing up and down staircases to find different departments! There are a range of beauty services including a stylish Shavata nail and brow bar, Hershesons Blow Dry Bar, and Beyond Medispa as well as the beauty brand counters. The store boasts a brand new restaurant with the menu curated by Michelin-star chef Glynn Purnell, and a sleek cocktail bar featuring Birmingham-inspired drinks.
