Put on your dancing shoes, Billy Elliot the Musical is heading to Birmingham Hippodrome!

Winner of 10 Tony and five Olivier Awards Billy Elliot the Musical is leaping onto the stage of Birmingham Hippodrome from Tuesday March 7 – Saturday April 29 as part of its first UK tour.

One of the most successful West End shows of all time, Billy Elliot the Musical has been seen by more than 10 million people across the globe.

The musical, which first appeared as a hit movie in 2000 starring Jamie Bell and Julie Walters follows the life of young Billy growing up in a mining town. Set during the miners’ strikes of 1984-1985, Billy decides to swap his boxing gloves for ballet slippers after discovering his passion for dance.

As his talent blossoms under the hands of his teacher Mrs Wilkinson (Annette McLaughlin) Billy’s love for ballet changes his life forever.

Starring the role of Billy are Adam Abbou, Matthew Lyons, Haydn May and local boy Lewis Smallman from West Bromwich. Other cast members include Martin Walsh, Scott Garnham and Andrea Miller.
