Celebrate International Women's Day at The Old Rep

Marlene McKenzie

All my ladies, do you hear me! International Women’s Day is just around the corner and The Old Rep have the perfect way for us to come together and celebrate.

Last year, The Old Rep celebrated the original work from female artists, and this year is now different as The Old Rep’s New Work Nights is returning with two new productions from Midland writers on Wednesday 8th March, for International Women’s Day 2017.

One of the productions will be Save Our School Dinners… Jamie! by Parveen Virk – a new comedy-drama about a group of dinner ladies living in the Midlands, but from different parts of the world. Their aim is to save the only school in their small community, one dinner at a time.

The second production is LITE from Moonville Theatre – showcasing a 20-minute extract of the new play. LITE is a multimedia woman, exploring issues of identity through a young black women’s eyes. This will then be followed by Q&A session about the issues it raises about the skin lightening, identity and image.

Don’t miss out on these incredible productions, get your tickets here!
