After its brilliant debut over the May bank holiday weekend at Lab 11 in Birmingham, Street Banquet is back – and this time it’s got a brand new sister event taking place in Wolverhampton.
Street Banquet is a brand new event concept taking place across the Midlands which brings together the UK’s best street food traders, local chefs and restaurants for a full day of fancy feasting, sound-tracked by resident DJs to create a casual dining experience. The emphasis is on fun for all of the family, creating a whole new way to eat, drink and hang out for everyone to enjoy, a feast for all of the senses. On Saturday 13th June Street Banquet returns to Lab 11 in the heart of Digbeth, and on Saturday 27th June it makes its debut in Wolverhampton in Tettenhall, venue to be announced.
Succulent sizzling meats and plenty of vegetarian options are on offer at Street Banquet, with a vibrant palette of inspirations from all over the world to choose from. Distinctive quality wines are available to buy by the bottle or the glass, craft beer partners are carefully selected and the specially created Gin Shack offers the chance to explore this often overlooked spirit in its many (highly delicious!) forms. By up-cycling materials including old wooden reels, pallets, scaffold boards and oil barrels, Street Banquet is a wondrous urban village, the perfect place to spend the afternoon and evening in the company of friends, family and fellow Banqueters. The aim of Street Banquet is to encourage a culinary quest across a broad spectrum of palates, taking in global flavours and styles as well as championing local vendors, chefs and restaurants.
For June 13th in Birmingham, street food will be provided by Big Papa’s Beautiful South, Ceylon Spice, Gangsta Wraps, Jo’s Coffee, OMG Hotdog, The Crumble Shack, and drinks from Langley’s Gin Experience, Loki Wine and Enville Ales. Then for June 27th in Wolverhampton, Meatshack, Grande Viande, Penang Laska, Fancy Fries, Gangsta Wraps and Pop Up Pancakes provide the food and again Langley’s Gin Experience, Loki Wines and Enville Ales offer tantalising drinks.
Street Banquet has also announced its run of summer dates through June, July and into August, taking place each and every Saturday in either Birmingham or Wolverhampton. Each Saturday will offer something a little bit different, from chef/restaurant take overs, one off Street Food Debuts to collaborative ventures with some of the industry’s finest like-minded foodsters. Weekly Line up’s will be announced via Facebook / Twitter shortly.
