The search is on for the town’s next top model as part of the first ever Solihull Fashion Week
One of the UK’s leading modelling agencies will be working with Fashion Week organisers, Solihull Business Improvement District, to discover the male and female faces of the future. The winners will feature in a photoshoot for the August edition of InSolihull magazine and other promotional material for the BID (see attached flyer). Solihull Fashion Week takes place between Thursday, April 21st and Sunday, April 24th and is supported by Mell Square shopping centre and John Lewis.
The town centre-wide style extravaganza kicks off with an exclusive VIP evening attended by Strictly Come Dancing star Anton du Beke at the Ramada Hotel on the evening of April 21st, hosted by ITV Central newsreader and self-confessed shopaholic Sameena Ali-Khan. Sameena described the Solihull model search as a great opportunity for two young people. “Let’s face it, there is no shortage of good looking people in the area so I’m looking forward to seeing some fierce competition and the start of two amazing careers!”
Fashion Week activity continues on Friday, April 22nd, with a series of exclusive hair style demonstrations and question-and-answer sessions with London-based stylist to the stars, Andrew Barton. Fashion Week weekend will see Prom Day displays, children’s and men’s looks and a host of other activity featuring high street brands and Solihull’s booming independent retailers in Touchwood and the Mell Square Style Arena. The model search is being organised by Birmingham-based Alan Sharman Agency, which works with some of the country’s leading models, brands, advertising agencies and photographers.
“We’re looking forward to working alongside Solihull BID to ‘discover’ the face of Solihull at the first Solihull Fashion Week,” said Alan Sharman. “This is an exciting opportunity for the two winners to have an insight and experience of the model industry.”
The model search open casting will take place on Saturday, April 23rd, between 11am and 5pm in the Mell Square Style Arena.
You will need to be aged between 16-19 and accompanied by a parent/guardian if under the age of 18. Those taking part must not be wearing make-up and will have a head and shoulders photograph taken. A judging panel will then create a shortlist for a public vote to choose the winning male and female models.
