The Best Footwear For This Season

Now that winter has truly set in, out go the strappy heels and lace-up flats; now’s the time to bring in practical shoes but that doesn’t mean you have to compromise on style.

There are plenty of incredible styles to choose from, whether you’re in need of shoes suitable for your commute to work in the icy weather or want to find a pair of stylish (but warm) boots to wear on a night out; there’s definitely the perfect pair for all occasions.

If you love a platform strappy heel, you can’t go wrong with an ankle boot for winter. From chunky soles to platform heel, ankle boots are versatile and compliment most outfits.

This winter, designers have been loving the chunky sole boot which has been shown on a variety of catwalks. Taking inspiration from grunge fashion, embellishments like eyelets, extra straps and studs will look really stylish.  Also, platform heels are great if you want the height of a stiletto with none of the pain. As well as that, suede sock style boots have been really popular and are a great boot to elongate your legs.

Suede sock style boots have been really popular and are a great boot to elongate your legs. And thanks to the Kardashian/Jenner clan, perspex heels have also made a comeback. The perspex heel gives a unique and expensive looking aesthetic to an outfit making them the perfect shoe for a night out. You could even go for an all transparent boot if you want to be a little more daring.

All these boots below are perfect choices to finish your outfit:

When winter hits a pair of over the knee boots are your best friend. The classic knee-high boot is usually in a sock style making it tight fitting, they would look great over skinny jeans or under a midi skirt. Lace-up knee-high boots are great to make a statement, consequently adding a touch of edginess to every outfit. Peep toe knee-high boots are a suitable choice if you want to make a statement, but don’t want to suffer from cold legs from regular peep toe heels.

Here are some examples of some gorgeous over the knee boots:

For those who prefer to stick to flats, a trainer would be a great choice.  Trainers give a really stylish look when paired with the right outfit. An example would be a two piece suit or midi skirt, the overall look would be edgy and very stylish. There are plenty of really smart styles you can choose from which would be acceptable to wear for a night out. A brogue would also be another nice alternative.
