We Are Cow – Digbeth
If you’ve been to Digbeth you will have definitely seen Cow. It’s the big unmissable yellow building that simply says, COW across the top. Don’t be fooled by the plain looking exterior, We Are Cow is a treasure chest of gorgeous high quality vintage items sourced from all over the world, and it only has four stores in the UK so it’s an exclusive pick that’s well worth a look.
Urban Village Vintage – Digbeth
A very unique boutique providing the finest 50s, 60s & 70s vintage clothing, records and artwork. Urban Village have a special love for and connection to the mod scene. This shop is for loyal lovers of vintage and has an incredibly friendly atmosphere. It’s mostly known by word of mouth and has a dedicated following of fans. Definitely a hidden gem to visit.
More Than Vintage – Great Western Arcade
More Than Vintage is a Birmingham-based vintage and retro charity shop, raising money to help homeless services across the city run by SIFA Fireside and
Reach the People Charity, based in Great Western Arcade. It’s open six days a week and stock a wide range of vintage clothing, right from the 60s through to the 90s.
Flamingo Vintage – Custard Factory
This is a beautifully quaint vintage store that’s nestled into the Custard Factory just waiting to be discovered. There are some definite bohemian vibes at Flamingo’s boutique inspired by the 1970’s but it stocks a hand-picked collection of vintage clothing & accessories from the 50’s 60’s 70’s & 80’s so you’ll definitely find something you love.
Gingermegs Vintage – Vyse Street
Gingermegs is a gorgeous vintage boutique that specialises in an amazing array of affordable vintage wedding dresses and occasion dresses. It also has a wide range of jewellery and some exclusive art deco pieces all collected from around the world. Gingermegs stock a wide range of vintage clothes from the 1920s to the 1950s, so if you love 50s vintage dresses or 1940s coats you definitely need to check it out!
Credit Crunching Vintage – Moat Lane
Credit Crunching Vintage is an incredible vintage shop in Birmingham that is based on the idea that you shouldn’t have to break the bank to support your vintage addiction. The shop is packed full of bargains and holds a kilo sale every month, which is only £5.00 per kilo you buy! Credit Crunching Village stock a huge range of vintage clothes and items ranging from Burberry coats to BBQs so if you fancy grabbing yourself a good deal make sure to try this boutique.
Judy’s Affordable Vintage Fair – Custard Factory
On the 1st October in the Market Hall at the Custard Factory this fair will be bringing together the best vintage traders for the day for a shopping extravaganza. Founded in 2005 and shopped by the likes of Pixie Lott and Florence and The Machine they provide unique and affordable vintage. From menswear to womenswear, furniture to collectibles and accessories to jewellery, all without paying through the teeth! And if that’s not enough Judy’s will be hosting a vintage tea party with more tea and cake than you could ever imagine.
Birmingham Vintage Kilo Sale – Custard Factory
On Saturday 22nd October The Vintage Clothing Kilo Sale is coming to the Custard Factory in Birmingham! It’s a collaboration between Glass Onion, Europe’s largest vintage wholesaler and Judy’s Vintage Fair, one of Britain’s biggest vintage fairs. The shops will be bringing over 5 tonnes of retro fashion for you to snap up at the unbelievably cheap price of £15.00 per kilo. You simply select any items you like, take them to the weigh station and pay for the weight of the clothes you want.
The Vintage Weigh and Pay – St. Martin
This is not a shop but instead is an amazing vintage fair that comes to Birmingham every once in a while. You can find them at St. Martin’s church at the Bullring and the next event is on 8th October 2016. The concept is simple, choose your favourites from a vast array of vintage clothes and shoes, take them to the weigh station and pay only for the weight. You only pay 15.00 for a kilo! Roxy Valetta are a real hidden gem, only the true hardcore vintage fans will know about this boutique as they have no address listed online. You will have to go on a vintage quest to find this boutique but it will definitely be worth it. They sell cherry picked vintage ranges & creative design services. If you can’t find the store you can find them online on ASOS Marketplace. They stock everything from vintage clothing, accessories, retro streetwear, to shoes, handbags & nicknacks.
