As the Midlands Fashion Awards officially launches for 2015 on Friday 7th August, here’s what to expect from the MFA Independent Designers Catwalk Show at the Hyatt Regency Birmingham and, if you haven’t already, why you should be buying a ticket.
One of several independent designers to showcase on the catwalk, Boo Couture presents a sensual collection full of fairy tale glamour. The clean cut lines, simple yet stylish colours and fabrics that just beg to be worn. Boo Couture creates timeless pieces that will survive modern trends – think 1950s glamour with a current edge.
Disorder Boutique is representing the Midlands at the MFA Independent Catwalk Show, based just off New Street in Birmingham City Centre, the award-winning boutique designs and manufactures everything in Birmingham. Described as ‘an antidote to the High Street’ look out for the brands signature style – an Italian tailored cut, with Oriental styling and a British twist.
Reece Curtis-Walwyn (RCW) brings modern feminine tailoring to the catwalk with her recent ‘Skyline’ collection. Inspired by the phrase ‘ I am always searching for more light and space’ the distinctive RCW designs use soft colours to highlight and empower the feminine form in rich fabrics that can easily be taken from day to night.
Using her heritage and upbringing as inspiration, Viola Kale creates striking street-wear with an African influence, in rich English organza. The collection features both menswear and womenswear with simple, classic designs that stand out in black and gold.
Inspired by the phases of the moon, the Sandra Vieira ‘WINTERMOON’ collection is causal chic at its best. Think asymmetrical cuts, curved lines and sharp edges in mulit-tonal shades of grey.
Designers will showcase their collections in an impressive catwalk show, at the Hyatt Regency, Birmingham on Friday 7th August. Tickets are priced at £25, and include a glass of fizz on arrival and a selection of cocktail snacks, available to purchase online now at www.midlandsfashionawards.co.uk
