Folium | Jewellery Quarter | City Centre

Situated just a stone’s throw away from the picturesque St Paul’s Square, Folium is one of two fine dining options tucked away within the heart of the historic Jewellery Quarter.

Located on Caroline Street, this stylish restaurant celebrates the very best of modern British food using simple flavours alongside the highest-quality ingredients. Folium’s menu changes with the seasons, but you can view a sample of the current one here.

Serving both lunch and dinner from Wednesday onwards, you can enjoy a two-course lunch for £27.50, three-course lunch for £32.50, a five-course dinner for £55 and seven courses for £70.

The Wilderness | Jewellery Quarter | City Centre

Looking for a dining concept that’s a little different from the norm? Headed up by Alex Claridge, The Wilderness puts the rock and roll into fine dining.

Also housed in Jewellery Quarter, The Wilderness first opened its doors in Dudley Street before moving into the former home of Two Cats Kitchen on Warstone Lane last year.

Run by top Brummie chef Glynn Purnell, Purnell’s is one of the four Michelin Star restaurants in Birmingham. Tucked away on Cornwall Street, this popular dining spot attracts diners from across the country who want to try Glynn’s world-class food for themselves.

Homing in on British flavours with influences from both France and the Far East, Purnells currently offers a range of tasting menus including A Purnell’s Journey, Brummie Tapas and Autumn.

Adams | Waterloo Street | City Centre

Open for lunch and dinner Tuesday to Saturday, Adams is another Michelin Star on Birmingham’s culinary bow. Also focusing on British classics with a modern twist, this contemporary restaurant serves lunch from 12pm – 2pm and dinner from 7pm – 9pm.

Run by head chef and owner, Adam Stokes, Adams began as a pop-up in the city before opening its permanent home on Waterloo Street. With an ever-changing seasonal menu showcases a range of delicious ingredients, Adams’ tasting menu also has the option to add on a wine float for an additional cost.

Opheem | Summer Row | City Centre

After opening its doors on Summer Row in 2018, Aktar Islam’s Opheem was quickly recognised by the Michelin Guide as a fantastic new addition to the city that celebrates delicious Indian food cooked to a highly professional standard. It earned its first star in the Michelin Guide 2020.

Striving to push the boundaries of Indian flavours, Opheem offers both a five and seven-course tasting menu. Priced at £50 and £70, you can enjoy five or seven mouthwatering and delicately spiced courses for just £10 per plate. Sounds like a fantastic offer to us.

Craft Dining Rooms | ICC | City Centre

A recent addition to Birmingham, Craft Dining Rooms opened its doors in 2019 in the ICC in the former home of Prezzo.

Tried and tested by Team Style, Craft Dining Rooms menu celebrates the very best British classics, from the humble fish pie to a rich, warming beef wellington. Alongside the afternoon tea and Sunday lunch menu, Craft also has a set menu of two courses for £19.95 and three courses of £24.95.

Beyond the City Centre

Simpsons Restaurant | High Field Road | Edgbaston

Another Michelin Star spot in the Birmingham, Simpsons lies just outside the city centre in the leafy attractive suburb of Edgbaston. This elegant restaurant has held its star since 2000, making it one of the most successful fine dining spots in the city.

Headed up by Luke Tipping and Andreas Antona, Simpsons offers a six-course tasting lunch (available Tuesday – Thursday) priced at £70 per person, and a six-course tasting menu priced at £95 per person. A vegan lunch and dinner menu is also available for diners.

Led by Rob Palmer, Peels at the stunning Hampton Manor has been on our list of places to dine here at the Style HQ for some time now. Holding both a Michelin star and four AA rosettes, this beautiful restaurant offers both a four-course menu priced at £80 per person and a seven-course menu priced at £100 per person.

Encased in picturesque surroundings including a walled garden, the food served at Peels holds a focus on flavour, while making sure the main element of the dish remains front and centre. With plates of delicately cooked seafood, game and sweet notes of chocolate and raspberry, it’s a restaurant that is the perfect choice for a special occasion.
