After a long hard week in the office, there’s nothing better than heading out for a drink or two.
Whether you’re new to the world of gin (in which case, welcome) or you’re quite the gin conniseur, we’ve rounded up our top seven places of where to get the best gin drinks in the city – please drink responsibly!
The Gin Vault
What better place could there possibly be to celebrate World Gin Day than The Gin Vault. Blink and you’ll miss it, this quirky little bar located on Gas Street, has quite an extensive range of gins on its menu -155 to be exact. From the classic Langleys No8 to flavoured gins from Warner Edwards, you can create your perfect drink at The Gin Vault.
The Lost & Found
Take a stroll up Bennetts Hill and you’ll come across The Lost & Found – one of my personal favourites on this list. This themed adventurers bar based on the life of Hettie G. Watson is not only a Victorian botanical hideaway, it also happens to dish up some seriously good gin-based cocktails and has a secret bar hidden behind a bookcase – what more could you want?
40 St Paul’s
With 124 gins to choose from, 40 St Paul’s offers a bespoke flavour matching service to help create the perfect G&T for its customers. The perfect place to start off your weekend or kick back and relax at the weekend with a G&T in hand, 40 St Paul’s even runs a communal game of Card’s Against Humanity every Sunday; so if you’re looking to add a bit of humour to your weekend in a chilled-out environment, this is the place to be.
Yet another of the city’s incredible themed bars, The Botanist has an entire menu devoted to gin-based cocktails which crafted across the country and are designed to suit a variety of palettes. And if you see yourself as a budding mixologist, why not try your hand at one of The Botanist’s Cocktail Masterclasses; who knows, you could create your own master gin cocktail.
The Jekyll & Hyde
Home to The Jekyll’s Victorian Gin Parlour The Jekyll & Hyde is well-known in the city for delivering some top quality gins. If you’re a real gin fan we suggest you take part in The Jekyll & Hyde’s Cocktail Chemistry Masterclasses where you can learn about the history of your favourite tipple whilst sipping on a variety of samples. You’ll leave this place as a true gin connoisseur.
After reopening its doors to the public following a 21-month hiatus, Primitivo is back to serving up some seriously good G&T’s . Situated in the heart of Colmore Row, the newly refurbished bar and eatery is a must-visit if you fancy a relaxing drink in a welcoming environment. Try the food too, it’s amazing.
Take a stroll around the corner from Primitivo and you’ll end up at the incredibly popular Bar Opus. Located on the ground floor of One Snow Hill, this stylish bar and restaurant is always a good place to head to if you want to kick off your weekend in style, grab some food, or sip on a bespoke Chase G&T.
