Calling all vegans! On May 30, Fry Family Food Co will be attempting to break the world record for the biggest vegan barbecue in Birmingham’s Eastside City Park.

The first of its kind in the UK, the plant-based BBQ will be held between 11 am and 3 pm on Wednesday 30 May, and hopes to gather together vegans, vegetarians and meat-eaters alike to take part in the record breaking event.

Attendees can expect a free meat-free burger or hotdog, provided by the organisers. The barbecue (or ‘bar-v-que’, as it’s been dubbed) aims to promote alternate options for those who follow a vegan lifestyle, and encourage the idea that meat-free food doesn’t have to be boring.

Fry’s International Marketing Director Tammy Fry said:

“For many, it wouldn’t be a British summer without a get together with friends, enjoying a barbecue while soaking up the sunshine. This year we want to kick off barbecue season in style with the world’s biggest vegan BVQ – and everyone is welcome!”

Whether you’re vegan or not, the event is sure to be a great way to enjoy some good food, soak up the sunshine and possibly break a world record.

To be part of the world record attempt, visit Eastside City Park between 11am and 3pm on Wednesday the 30th of May. Click here to find out more!
