Some may say that London is home to some of the best coffee shops in the country. That being said, these Birmingham gems are certainly giving them a run for their money! Take a look at our top places to grab a coffee in the city.

Tilt | City Arcade 

Hidden within City Arcade, Tilt is a great place in the city centre; take a seat in its cosy interiors or battle it out on one of Tilt’s 13 pinball machines. And if a flat white doesn’t take your fancy, you can try out one of their wide selection of craft beers.

Yorks | Stephenson Street & Ikon Gallery

Not just a place to grab one of the best brunches in the city, Yorks is a strong contender for providing the best coffee in the city. Whether you’re popping into their flagship on Stephenson Street or relaxing after strolling around Ikon Gallery, you won’t be disappointed by Yorks’ incredibly rich blends, hand-crafted by the lovely team of baristas. Not to mention the incredible food on offer, from incredible brunches to mouthwatering burgers and flatbreads.

Urban Kitchen | Jewellery Quarter & Church Street

Start your morning off right with a coffee from Urban Emporiums. Whether you visit them at in Church Street or in the heart of Jewellery Quarter, you’ll find a warming cup of coffee waiting for you. And, if you have time to sit down, you’ll be spoilt for choice with Urban’s delicious brunch menu, offering everything from avocado smash to the mighty Urban Brekkie.

Boo Boo Coffee | Harborne

If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city centre, you need to take a trip out to Boo Boo Coffee. Make the most out of the cosy environment and grab yourself a slice of Boo Boo’s homemade cake (we recommened the fruit cake) – it’s delicious, trust us!

Quarter Horse Coffee | Bristol Street

See yourself as a bit of a coffee connoisseur? Then Quarter Horse Coffee will be right up your street. Quarter Horse prides itself on roasting a quality blend that will give you the get-up-and-go you need to make it through the week. Faculty | Piccadilly Arcade

Faculty takes its coffee very seriously. Hidden in Piccadilly Arcade – blink and you’ll miss it, this quirky little coffee shop looks like it’s come straight out of London. Joined with Sixteen Kitchen Bakery, grab yourself a freshly brewed flat white and head next door for a delicious homemade cake or pastry.

Home is Where | Church Street

Home is Where is the next door neighbour of Urban Emporium, Church Street. With a laid-back atmosphere and delicious coffee and cake, it makes the perfect base to work from home to tuck into a delicious breakfast.

Cherry Reds | John Bright St.

Just a short stroll from Grand Central, Cherry Reds is spread across two levels and filled with cosy furniture, board games, mouthwatering food and delicious coffee. If you’re not a coffee drinker, we suggest you try out one of their scrumptious hot chocolates, perfect for warming up in the colder weather.

200 Degrees | Colmore Row

Just a stone’s throw away from Pigeon Park you’ll find 200 Degrees. With other homes in Leicester, Nottingham, Leeds and Cardiff, this independent store knows how to make a seriously good cuppa Joe which you can enjoy within a relaxed atmosphere.

New Kids on the Block

Caffiened | Gordon Road, Harborne

Caffiened is at the top of our list top of places you need to pick up a seriously good coffee. Just a short drive (or bus ride) outside of the city centre, this trendy independent located just off the High Street is the perfect place to kick back and relax with a book in-hand. And if you’re not a coffee lover, we suggest you try out their incredible hot chocolate.

Bloom | Poplar Road, Kings Heath

‘Good Food x Good Coffee’ is the mantra that Bloom lives by. A collaboration between chef Tim Paine and barista Alasdair Houston that opened in summer 2017, Bloom looks like it’s been plucked out from a cosy side street in London, with a welcoming atmosphere and staff who serve up everything from a piccolo to a pour over. And if you’re a person that just has to Instragram your food or coffee before it’s demolished, Bloom is the perfect setting for snapping that perfect photo.
