TV star Jimi Mistry and X Factor winner Sam Bailey have confirmed their return to the city later this year, for Glynn Purnell’s Friday Night Kitchen.
The duo join a number of supporters who are back for the 2017 event, including Birmingham Airport. The Friday night fundraiser, in aid of Cure Leukaemia, has big ambitions this year and is moving to The Vox, doubling its capacity from 400 to 800.
Taking place on Friday 6 October, the event will see Glynn Purnell joined on stage by a host of celebrity friends to create a delicious four course meal live in front of the audience.
As a Birmingham School of Acting graduate, Jimi is best known for his roles in UK soaps Eastenders and Coronation Street, as well as roles on the big screen including East Is East, Blood Diamond, The Guru and Ella Enchanted. Jimi said:
I’m really happy to be involved again this year; last year was an incredible night. I’m sure it will be bigger and better than ever
Also returning this year is X Factor winner Sam Bailey, who performed at last year’s event and was so impressed by the work of Cure Leukaemia that she signed up to be an ambassador of the charity on the night.
This is sure to be a star-studded evening to raise money for an amazing cause. Tickets are on sale now, priced at £175. This includes reception drinks, a four-course meal prepared by Glynn Purnell and raffle tickets to win Sunday lunch for up to six people cooked in your home by Glynn and the team from Purnell’s – they even do the washing up! Tables of 10 are also available.
There are also still some sponsor slots just waiting to be filled, so if your company is looking to be involved in the GPFNK event, get in touch by emailing Jackie@fridaynightkitchen.co.uk.
