Will you be trying these 2019 drinks trends?

Quench your thirst with the trendiest tipples this year…

Make it Mexican

You’ve probably tried tequila, the most popular form of mezcal here in the UK, but why limit yourself to the classic shot with salt and lemon? Mezcal is an agave-based liquor, and with over 30 varieties to choose from, you’ll be spoilt for choice. If you’ve never tried it before, ease yourself in with Del Maguey Vida, which is perfect for cocktails, or Ilegal Joven which is satisfyingly smoky.

Style up your Cider

Believe it or not, cider just got a whole lot more stylish. With the growth of super single-variety ciders and processes such as underground ageing, this summery tipple is set to come back with a bang.

Drink your Dinner

No, we don’t mean diet drinks or protein shakes, we’re talking carrot cake shots and chocolate martinis with a melt-in-the-mouth mixture of vanilla vodka and chocolate liqueur. When it comes to cocktails, anything goes! It’s even been reported that a bar in Virginia have been serving a bacon and egg cocktail, but we’ll hold off on that for now…

Gin’s Here to Stay

Pink, rhubarb, ginger and parma violet – the gin list goes on. Last year, sales of the spirit rose by almost 50 per cent and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. Keep your eyes peeled for the new Beefeater Blood Orange flavour which is set to hit supermarkets soon, alongside other quirky flavours just in time for summer.

CBD Infusions

Following the legalisation of cannabis in Canada, the drinks industry has followed suit and now the legal non-psychoactive chemical derived from cannabis (CBD) is becoming increasingly popular in cocktails and food dishes globally.

Stay Sober with Seedlip

Since creating the first non-alcoholic spirit, Seedlip is taking the drinks industry by storm. With three different flavours to choose from, simply pour over ice, pair with crisp tonic water, top with some fresh garnish (depending on your tastes) and you’re good to go.
