From cheese festivals to community street closures, these are some of our favourite activities in Birmingham this weekend!

Birmingham Craft & Flea – April 21 

Support local independent businesses and head to Birmingham Craft and Flea at St Martin’s in the Bullring this weekend to browse a selection of furnishings, accessories, food, drink, art, jewellery, prints and much more. You’ll also have plenty of opportunities to get stuck in and get crafty, like the chance to make your own macramé plant hangers. Some of our favourites to look out for on the day include Katie Pill, Sparkly Mouse and Jade Evans.

Gin Connoisseurs Tasting – April 21

Learn everything you need to know about gin in this advanced tasting course at Loki Wine, led by expert Carl ‘The Gin’tleman’ Hawkins. From dry to spiced, you’ll go through a variety of tastes and flavours to find the perfect tipple and afterwards you’ll also get a 10% discount to spend on your gin of choice!

Commonwealth Games Homecoming Party – April 21

This free public party follows the official handover of the Games’ baton to Birmingham,    celebrating Team England’s stars of the 2018 Commonwealth Games as they return from Australia. Expect a packed programme of music and dance, alongside a variety of sports taster sessions for you to try out for yourself!

Cheese Festival – April 21

Are you parmesan, cheddar, brie or Camembert? Either way, you’ll be spoilt for choice at the  Spring Market Cheese Festival, which will be taking over The Bond Company in Digbeth this Saturday. Alongside a mass amount of dairy goodness, there’ll also be a wine caravan, cocktail caravan and craft beers from Dig Brew Co available all day. 

WE ARE Balsall Heath – April 22

For one day only, Moseley Road will be closed off to celebrate the arts, culture, music and food of its diverse international community. This free and family-friendly street festival combines a variety of artistic experiences, market stalls and heritage trails to showcase and celebrate Balsall Heath. Click here to find out more. 

Dirty Martini – April 21

Brand new to the city, this stylish cocktail bar opens this Saturday night on Bennetts Hill! Get dressed up, choose from a selection of classic drinks, martinis with a twist or exclusive Peaky Blinders cocktails and dance the night away until the early hours. At Home With – April 20- 22

In association with Real Homes magazine, design lovers are invited to enjoy a packed programme of home and lifestyle themed interactive seminars and workshops at Mailbox. Calligraphy experts Feather & Flourish will be at the Heal’s showroom delivering a hand-lettering workshop, whilst Bloom Collective will be hosting a miniature terrarium garden workshop and a variety of authors, bloggers and influencers will be talking throughout the weekend.
