The best burger spots in Brum!

Read this in: 2 minutes

It seems that every day is a ‘National day for…’ something these days. In the past month we’ve had National Afternoon Tea Week and National Relaxation day, but the best is yet to come…that’s right, it’s National Burger Day.

To celebrate the mouth-watering day – which is Thursday August 24 FYI – we’ve pulled together to top five burger joints across Brum that cook up a seriously meaty patty.

Buffalo & Rye

Tucked away on Bennett’s Hill lies the Buffalo & Rye. Blink and you’ll miss it but this super-cool burger joint dishes up some seriously meaty burgers that we’re big fans of here at the Style HQ. From the classic House Cheeseburger to the more indulgent Buffalo Brisket burger, you’ll be left spoilt for choice on what to sink your teeth into. And if you’re craving a side, you can’t go wrong with the Chilli Cheese Fries loaded with homemade chilli, American cheese, topped with gherkins and jalapenos.

Original Patty Men

A burger joint that’s guaranteed to make your mouth water, Original Patty Men’s patties are certainly not for the faint hearted. The menu is fairly stripped back, offering four meaty burgers and one vegetarian option, but you can be sure that’ll be leaving OPM feeling seriously satisfied. And let’s not forget that superstar Drake called up OMP after his gig at Barclaycard Arena, to order a serious amount of burgers for his crew!

The Meat Shack

Say hello to the new kid on the block. Located on Thorpe Street opposite the Stage Door entrance for Birmingham Hippodrome, The Meat Shack is a hidden gem on Brum’s burger radar that opened its doors just under a month ago. With five juicy patties on the menu, The Meat Shack cooks their patties to order, so you know they’re well worth the wait.

The Dirty Cow Burger Company

You only have to take a quick glance at Dirty Cow’s website to know that they mean serious business when it comes to burgers. Whether you opt for The Big Brummie: three burgers topped with smoked bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and BBQ sauce or the Just Plain Dirty, you’ll be walking out the door in what we can only describe as a serious burger coma.

Rub Smokehouse & Bar

Known for its mad food challenges including a pizza in a burger cooked within a pizza and the giant Nugzilla, Rub is the place to go if you want to seriously indulge. Play it safe with the traditional Rub Burger or if you want to challenge yourself and are feeling particularly brave, you can give this a go…

The Smokehaus

Whether you want to build your own or choose from one of the mouth-watering burgers on offer, you can be sure The Smoke Haus won’t disappoint your burger cravings. It’s here that you’ll also find a slightly unusual option in the Donut Burger, an 8oz burger, swiss cheese, smoked streaky bacon, sweet sauce in two sweet glazed donuts, did we mention you can add an extra patty for just £3?
