If you’re anything like us, you spend quite a lot of time scrolling through your Instagram feed.
And while we all love following our favourite celebs, it’s equally important to show local accounts some love. From beauty brands to street art – we’ve rounded up to top Birmingham-based Instagram accounts that you should be following.
Bloom Collective | @Bloom_Collective
We became obsessed with Bloom Collective’s account when we first discovered them last year. Run by florist Katy Rose Pegg, here you’ll find everything from her stunning wedding bouquets to behind the scenes shots at her workshop. Katy also hosts classes throughout the year if you’re interested in creating your very own floral display.
Javelin Block | @javelinblock
Birmingham-based reconstruction and redevelopment business Javelin Block is behind the creation of some of the most stunning refurbished buildings in the city. Their space The Compound has been used in the past as a filming space for Ed Sheeran and recently appeared in The Body Coach’s brand new Channel 4 series: Joe Wicks The Body Coach. If serious home-inspo is what you’re after, then this is the account for you.
Tim Cornbill | @timcornbill
Tim Cornbill has shot some incredible photographs of the city over the years and has won awards for his stunning architecture shots. Last year, Tim won the Sony World Photography Awards Open Architecture Category and the National Award for the best UK entry to the competition for a photo he took on a trip to Berlin. An account that showcases the very best of our wonderful city, you’d be wrong not to follow him!

• Red on Blue • ============================= I’m in Norway! It’s been on my list for ages, and now I’m finally here and it’s somewhat blowing my mind… We’re up in the Lofoten Islands, an archipelago of pure beauty! After a day of snow, then a rather disappointing day of rain, the skies cleared and we had glorious light for about 4 hours. This is a rather obvious scene, but cliches are just that for a reason! ==================================== Hamnøy, Lofoten Islands, Norway ======================= @canonUK 5D Mk IV + 16-35mm + @leefilters circular polariser & little stopper ======================= #visitnorway #ilovenorway #norge #norway #thebestofnorway #highlightsnorway #bestofnorway #landscapesofnorway #lofoten #lofotenislands #hamnoy #hamnøy #mountainscape #discoverlandscape #ig_photostars #ig_worldclub #main_vision #hubs_united #phototag_it #master_shots #guardiantravelsnaps #moodygrams #mycanon #norge #dreamchasersnorway #igersbirminghamontour #longexposure
Much like Tim, Verity’s feed is full of outstanding images of everything from St Paul’s Square to her travels in Norway and beyond. Last January, Verity hosted her first solo exhibition at the Museum of the Jewellery Quarter, which featured some of her most popular snaps of Birmingham’s iconic skyline and images of Ikon Gallery, Birmingham canals and Selfridges.
Jack Spicer Adams | @jackspiceradams
As well as presenting his radio show on Brum Radio, Jack Spicer Adams’ Instagram feed is full of colour, architecture, botanicals, food and everything in between. For stunning photos that will leave you wanting to eat at Birmingham’s best bakeries to heading to the airport and hopping on a plane to Lisbon, Jack’s account is one you’ll constantly find yourself going back to.
Bloom Kings Heath | @bloomkingsheath
Probably the most aesthetically pleasing feed on this list, Bloom Kings Heath is an absolute must-follow account if you’re a bit of a foodie. Expect everything from seasonal menus to impressive decorations for Christmas and Halloween, this independent knows how to use Instagram to its advantage because we can’t seem to stop looking at it!
Honest Skincare | @honestskincare
Independent skincare brand Honest Skincare is one of our favourite accounts to follow, simply because it absolutely nails everything that a natural Instagram account should be. Using their profile to display their beautiful store in Great Western Arcade as well as their handmade products, even looking at it makes us feel all calm inside.
Birmingham’s Hidden Spaces | @Hiddenbrum
An abandoned theatre and tunnels that connect Grand Central and Mailbox, Birmingham Hidden Spaces reveals the secret places in the city that you probably never knew about. The organisation also hosts tours around some of the spaces, so if you want to explore the city like never before, then this is the account you need to keep your eyes on.
