It’s been an incredible year for city charity LoveBrum, which has come to an end with it receiving one its biggest donations at a Christmas party like no other.
Sponsored by Elonex Outdoor Media, the Birmingham Publicity Association‘s (BPA) annual Christmas dinner, which took place at the Birmingham REP on Friday, December 1, raised an incredible £6,500 for the charity – one if its biggest donations in its three-year history, with the money going towards 400 ‘Bags for Brummies’ which will be filled with essentials for the city’s homeless community.
Alongside this, the money will help support local charitable projects, including some of this year’s causes that didn’t win the monthly funding but will now be able to benefit from a donation from LoveBrum.
The BPA, which supports the media and creative industries in the region, while raising money for key charities has been busy changing their calendar of events over the last year to reflect the networking nature of the organisation, and what their members have been asking for, including the Summer Carnival with street food in Digbeth, and the Midlands Media Mingles at trendy bars in the city centre.
Caroline Chell, chair of the BPA, who handed over the cheque to LoveBrum said:
We’re so proud to be able to give such a great amount to a charity that makes such a positive difference within a city. To know this is such a major donation to them makes us very proud of the difference the BPA can make to their winning project around Birmingham.”

This donation from the BPA is truly wonderful and has already transformed what we’re able to achieve with the ‘Bags for Brummies’ initiative. Having BPA’s support for our first year of this project really is fantastic and it means that we can really make a difference to Birmingham’s homeless community this Christmas.
