The Life I Lead | Birmingham REP | Monday – Wednesday
Actor David Tomlinson was best known for portraying Mr Bank’s in Disney’s Mary Poppins, but there was more to his life than the magic of the movies.
The Life I Lead is a rich and comic play that delves deep into the life of a man who appeared in some of the most magical childhood movies of all time.
Performed by stand-up comedian, Miles Jupp, this wonderful production of love, loss and discovery is one that shouldn’t be missed when it comes to the REP for three nights this week.
Mid-Week Movies | Mockingbird Cinema & Kitchen | All Week
Nothing quite beats a night at the movies. So if you’re looking for something to do this week that won’t break the bank, then why not head down to Mockingbird Cinema & Kitchen?
Throughout the week you can catch some of the biggest movies of the year including the BAFTA nominated If Beale Street Could Talk, crime/drama Can You Ever Forgive Me? starring Melissa McCarthy, or, catch the latest Marvel flick Captain Marvel ahead of the release of Avengers: End Game next month.

Kinky Boots | Birmingham Hippodrome | March 11 – 23
It’s time to paint the town red this week as Birmingham’s about to get kinky!
Inspired by true events, the smash-hit West End and Broadway musical Kinky Boots is heading to Birmingham Hippodrome, and trust us when we say it’s a show that you simply cannot miss.
With music from the legendary Cyndi Lauper, Kinky Boots follows the life of shoe factory worker, Charlie Price, who’s struggling to make ends meet when he takes over the family business.
But when he bumps into the mysterious and glamours drag queen, Lola, they embark on a business adventure that takes Prince & Sons to new heights.
Blue Planet II Live | Resorts World Arena | Saturday
Blue Planet II captivated thousands of viewers across the country when it first aired on the BBC in 2017.
And this Saturday, fans of the BAFTA Award-winning documentary series will be able to experince this simply stunning show like never before.
Presented by Anita Rani, Blue Plant II – Live in Concert will show highlights from the series on a huge state-of-the-art 4K Ultra HD screen, accompanied by a full symphony orchestra.
St Patricks Day Parade | Digbeth | Sunday
As well as being home to the Balti Triangle, Birmingham is also home to the third biggest St Patrick’s Day parade in the world, second to New York, and, of course, Dublin.
Attracting around 90,000 people to the city, this Sunday, Birmingham will turn into a sea of green as part of the annual celebrations.
With some great events taking place in the Irish Quarter, down in Digbeth, there’s also the Emerald Mile fun run, live music and performances, plus plenty of places to grab a Guinness.
