You’ll probably remember DanceXchange, the Midlands-based dance house, from the huge success of their previous programme, May’s International Dance Festival.
Now you have a opportunity to see even more of their amazing work as they announce their latest performance season at The Patrick Centre, Birmingham Hippodrome, from 22nd September-3rd December 2016.
DanceXchange are promising to offer something for everyone and we can’t wait! All of their events are set to be phenomenal, including pieces ranging from the English premiere of a family-friendly show at Christmas, to a visually mesmerising production combining both dance and digital technology.
We are very excited t0 see the thrilling triple bill Folk from acclaimed National Dance Company Wales who are making their first ever visit to Birmingham! I’m sure they will love Birmingham just as much as we will love their performances when they kick off the season on the 22nd and 23rd of September.
The season closes with a retelling of Prokofiev’s famous Peter and the Wolf by CoisCeim Dance Theatre on the 2nd-3rd December, with wonderful pieces from Alexander Vantournhout, Unamoove, 2Faced Dance Company, and Alexander Whitley Dance Company throughout.
The aim of DanceXchange is to build enthusiasm for dance and the art of performance, and they definitely make us excited! We love that they bring people together from all over the world to showcase their talents and we love it even more that they do it here in Birmingham.
Lucie Mirkova, Programme Manager of DanceXchange said:
Our Autumn season is a fantastic mix offering a range of dance experiences from ground-breaking contemporary dance and performance art to cutting-edge collaborations.
We also want to let you know that DanceXchange run popular dance classes which start again on the 19th September. Amazingly, they offer a free taster week from the 12th September so people can sample a range of classes and with 14 different styles on offer we’re positive you will find something to love.
We aren’t great dancers here at Style but we’ll definitely give the new Bollywood, Flamenco, and Jazz classes a go if you do!
