‘Found’ is a new guide which features over 100 independent businesses including restaurants, cafés, bars and hairdressers, captured through beautiful illustrations and stunning photography by local artists and creatives.
Alongside unique artwork, inspired by the individuality of Birmingham’s retailers, the guide includes details of each store and a map.
Produced by Retail Birmingham and supported by Independent Birmingham, visitors can pick up a copy of Found from 4th July in one of the 140 independent stores in the city centre or download the guide from here.
Assia Sohaib, Retail BID Deputy Manager, said:
It’s not just the big names and luxury brands on offer in this brilliant city – Birmingham’s independent scene is also booming at an unprecedented rate. From quirky coffee shops to barbers and clothing stores to restaurants, Birmingham is bursting with cool and independent stores just waiting to be found.

Found encourages visitors to explore new areas of the city and discover different stores and locations that can offer something entirely new.
Katie Tomlinson, one of the illustrators whose artwork is featured in Found, added: “This campaign has given myself and other artists the chance to take part in something that truly showcases what our city encompasses – bringing people together and supporting homegrown talent.
It’s been an exciting project to be a part of and has allowed us to showcase our work to people across the city.
With over 140 independents throughout the city centre including Birmingham’s four independent historic arcades; Burlington Arcade, Great Western Arcade, Piccadilly Arcade and North Western Arcade, discover your city now with Found.
