Get ready for a week of mouth-watering food and drink events as the Mailbox prepares to host its highly anticipated Taste of the Mailbox festival.

Running from Monday, August 7 – Sunday, August 13, join the city’s most luxurious destination for an exciting schedule of exclusive events including masterclasses, tastings, live demos and complimentary food sampling in the Urban Room and Canalside area.

Seafood Feast & Masterclass with Lap-fai Lee (aka The Foodest)

Join Birmingham cook, tutor, food stylist, photographer and foodist, Lap-fai Lee, as he hosts an exclusive Asian seafood feast and masterclass at the the Mailbox’s sleek kitchen showroom, Kitchen Gallery.

Under the trusted supervision of Lap-fai, you’ll try your hands at making:

  • Salmon avocado sushi rolls and aburi salmon nigiri
  • Grilled scallops with soy butter and Japanese shichimi seven spice
  • Steamed whole fish with pickled chilli
  • Red curry king prawns

Once the hands-on part is done and dusted, you’ll get to sit down and enjoy your delicious seafood feast!

Wine Tasting with Harvey Nichols & Jane Parkinson

Join award-winning UK journalist, author and broadcaster Jane Parkinson and Harvey Nichols’ wine specialist, Siofra O’Brien, as they guide you through a range of contemporary and classic wines accompanied by charcuterie and cheese plates.

As well as her role as wine expert on BBC1’s Saturday Kitchen Live, Jane writes for the likes of Stylist, Telegraph Food & Drink, GQ, Harper’s Bazaar and Elle.

Harvey Nichols x The Wilderness
Harvey Nichols Restaurant | Sunday, August 13

An event not to be missed, Harvey Nichols is teaming up with iconic Birmingham restaurant The Wilderness for a tongue-in-cheek celebration of the traditional English holiday.

The one-night only collaboration will see much-applauded head chef Alex Claridge take over the kitchen in the luxury store to create what is sure to be an adventurous and usual spin on the quintessentially British summertime holiday.

Inspired by his own childhood holiday experiences, the evening will include an exciting six-course dinner, while the star attraction will be The Wilderness’ very own customised gothic ice cream van.

The Wilderness is also taking over the Harvey Nichols bar on Sunday (13), offering a selection of drinks that pair perfectly with the dishes, as well as a menu specially created cocktails.
