One of the biggest events in the city’s calendar, Birmingham Young Professional of the Year (BYPY) has officially launched for 2017, with a stylish event held at Malmaison.
The lavish VIP event held last night at the Mailbox saw hopeful contenders for the awards, which are organised by BPS Birmingham Future, joined by previous winners and 2017 sponsors. Not only did the event give an insight into the awards and a sense of what this year’s judges will be looking for, it also saw the nominations for the six categories open.
Now in its 17th year, BYPY is one of the city’s most highly regarded accolades, recognising talent aged 35 and under from the city’s professional services sector from leading industries including finance, HR, legal, marketing and communications, property and construction, and technology industries, with entrants battling it out to be named ‘Birmingham Young Professional of the Year’.
Not only does BYPY celebrate emerging professionals, it also recognises a stand-out individual aged between 16-24 as the city’s Aspiring Talent as well as honouring an Inspiring Leader; someone who has shown unwavering commitment to the city, from across the professional services community. In short, BYPY showcases Birmingham’s best of the best.
We went along to the glitzy event to mix with BYPY alumni and guests to get the inside scoop into year’s events so that we can bring you all the all the latest from #BYPY17.
Past winners including 2017 BYPY Abby Corfan, who gave a speech explaining how BYPY has changed her career in the year, have gone on to see their personal and professional development blossom since winning the award.
This year the event is being supported by Headline Sponsor BMet, as well as Squire Patton Boggs, the Mailbox, SimkissGuy Recruitment, 5874, and Hollywood Monster. We are also really excited to announce that Style Birmingham is the official media sponsors for this year’s awards, so stay tuned for all the latest information on this year’s awards and make sure you head to stylebham.com to keep up to date with all the latest BYPY information.
