Some may say that London is home to some of the best coffee shops in the country. That being said, these Birmingham gems are certainly giving them a run for their money! Take a look at our top places to grab a coffee in the city.

Tilt | City Arcade

Hidden within City Arcade, Tilt is a great place in the city centre; take a seat in its cosy interiors or battle it out on one of Tilt’s 13 pinball machines. And if a flat white doesn’t take your fancy, you can try out one of their wide selection of craft beers.

Yorks | Stephenson Street & Ikon Gallery

Not just a place to grab one of the best brunches in the city, Yorks is a strong contender for providing the best coffee in the city. Whether you’re popping into their flagship on Stephenson Street or relaxing after strolling around Ikon Gallery, you won’t be disappointed by Yorks’ incredibly rich blends, hand-crafted by the lovely team of baristas. Not to mention the incredible food on offer, from incredible brunches to mouthwatering burgers and flatbreads.

Urban Kitchen | Jewellery Quarter & Church Street

Start your morning off right with a coffee from Urban Emporiums. Whether you visit them at in Church Street or in the heart of Jewellery Quarter, you’ll find a warming cup of coffee waiting for you. And, if you have time to sit down, you’ll be spoilt for choice with Urban’s delicious brunch menu, offering everything from avocado smash to the mighty Urban Brekkie.

Just a short stroll from Grand Central, Cherry Reds is spread across two levels and filled with cosy furniture, board games, mouthwatering food and delicious coffee. If you’re not a coffee drinker, we suggest you try out one of their scrumptious hot chocolates, perfect for warming up in the colder weather.

200 Degrees | Colmore Row

Just a stone’s throw away from Pigeon Park you’ll find 200 Degrees. With other homes in Leicester, Nottingham, Leeds and Cardiff, this independent store knows how to make a seriously good cuppa Joe which you can enjoy within a relaxed atmosphere.

New Kids on the Block

Bloom | Poplar Road, Kings Heath

‘Good Food x Good Coffee’ is the mantra that Bloom lives by. A collaboration between chef Tim Paine and barista Alasdair Houston that opened in summer 2017, Bloom looks like it’s been plucked out from a cosy side street in London, with a welcoming atmosphere and staff who serve up everything from a piccolo to a pour over. And if you’re a person that just has to Instagram your food or coffee before it’s demolished, Bloom is the perfect setting for snapping that perfect photo.
