The New Alexandra Theatre is taking part in a nationwide fundraising event, which is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth craving, whilst raising money for an incredible charity
Next Friday 30th September staff at New Alexandra Theatre will be channelling their inner Mary Berry or Paul Hollywood as they bake a variety of sweet treats and scrumptious cakes to sell in order to raise money for Macmillan. The fabulous cakes and comforting hot drinks will be on sale in the Piano Bar of the theatre from 10am to 3pm. A number of talented local musicians will also be performing to give your ears a treat whilst you indulge.
It’s not only the staff at the theatre who will be working their socks off to create some marvellous cakes, as a mouth-watering Little Shop of Horrors themed cake is being donated by Boldmere Cakes to celebrate the cult show taking centre stage at the theatre from next Tuesday until to Saturday October 1. To be in with a chance to win the specially designed cake or a pair of tickets to the spectacular show stopper, be sure to buy a raffle ticket on the day.
Macmillan use the money it raises to support those who have been diagnosed with cancers and tumours, by offering help with everything from financial worries to advice about work. Lisa Mart, Acting General Manager of the New Alexandra Theatre said:
We all have, or know someone, who has been affected by cancer, so we are honoured to be able to help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Research. I would encourage everyone to pop in to our Piano Bar for a cuppa next Friday, and help make the day a success.
So if you’re in need of a sugar fix or decide it’s time to give in to those cravings, head down to the New Alexandra Theatre and help this amazing cause!
