Home to an incredible skyline, extravagant shopping malls, an array of gorgeous restaurants and the tallest building in the world, you’ll have to go big or go home as this is a truly unforgettable destination. Not only will you be able to wear shorts in December, you can fly direct from Birmingham – meaning you’ll touch down in the Arabian hotspot in just over seven hours.

Krakow, Poland

For an affordable city break, Krakow is a city steeped in history and culture, with a lively bar atmosphere, cute cafes and a gorgeous old town. Whilst you’re there, we recommend taking a visit to the Auschwitz Concentration Camp and Birkenau (around 90 minutes drive out of Krakow), the harrowing yet insightful memorial at the exact location where over 1.1 million men, women and children lost their lives in World War One.
