Bringing the first day of Pride to close is pop sensation Dua Lipa. With slamming pop hits including Blow your Mind (Mwah), Scared to be Lonely, Hotter than Hell, Be the One and No Lie, we can’t wait to see what Dua will be bringing to Birmingham. We caught up with the 21-year-old to talk all about Pride ahead of her headline set.
“I can’t wait to play Pride,” she excitingly says. “It’s going to be amazing, honestly I’m so excited, it’s going to be so much fun. I love the festival season, it’s one of my favourite things to be a part of and I can’t wait to get on stage and perform. It’s going to be an absolute blast.”
No stranger to Pride festivals, Dua played at Brighton Pride last year, but tells us she’s really looking forward to seeing what Birmingham will offer. “I know the crowd is going to bring it! I want people to be loud and be free; I love it when people are really enjoying something it makes me perform even better.”
“I think it’s important regardless of sex, age, race, sexuality – whatever Pride is just a day to celebrate who you are and to be really proud of the LGBT+ community.”
