The award-winning Birmingham Comedy Festival is returning this October with some of the biggest names in comedy announced as the first acts to join the line-up.
Running from Friday 6 – Sunday 15 October, acts including Birmingham’s very own Joe Lycett (October 10, The Glee Club), Cuckoo‘s Greg Davies (October 9-10, Symphony Hall), Little Britain‘s Matt Lucas (October 14, Town Hall) and international favourites and stars of Comedy Cental’s Impractical Jokers (October 12, Barclaycard Arena).
Other performances taking place across Brum as part of the festival include Monty Python’s classic Spamalot! at the New Alexandra Theatre, German Comedy Ambassador, Henning When at Town Hall and cult Cold War-set comedy 5 Lesbians Eating Quiche. Plus, you can catch performances from Phill Jupitus, Simon Amstall and some of the latest names to step onto the comedy ladder!
This year’s festival kicks off with the fourth Birmingham Comedy Festival Breaking Talent Award (October 6, The Glee Club), and boasts two Free Half-Dayers running on October 8 and 15. After marking its 15th anniversary last year, this year’s festival is set to be bigger and better than ever before. So, whether you’re into stand-up shows or comedic plays, you’re sure to find something to tickle your funny bones!
