This Thursday from 6pm, Light up a Life will see Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice switch on Christmas tree lights in Oozells Square, with the lights symbolising the lives of those no longer with us. Coming Out: Sexuality, Gender and Identity | Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery | Saturday December 2 – April 15 2018

Marking 50 years since the partial decriminalisation of male homosexual acts was passed in England and Wales, the ground-breaking ‘Coming Out’ exhibition opens to the public at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery this Friday. Including pieces from artists including Francis Bacon, Andy Warhol and Tracey Emin, the exhibition includes a gallery trail which brings themes to life throughout the museum to raise awareness of the LGBT+ stories.
