Eliza and the Bear have announced that they will be visiting record stores across the UK to perform a special acoustic set, meet fans and sign copies of their eagerly anticipated self-titled debut album, out 8th April through Capitol Records

Eliza and the Bear have revealed ‘Friends’ yet another glowing anthem taken from their debut album. The track tells an uplifting story about the importance of friends and family, combined with gleaming guitars and stadium-sized optimism. ‘Friends’ is the perfect example of how the Essex quintet create life-affirming songs.

Frontman James Kellegher says:

It Gets Cold is about returning back home after an inconceivable amount of time. It’s about the things you will miss being away from home and the moments in time you miss whilst at home reminiscing. It’s about the romanticism of memories. Lyrically I think It Gets Cold focuses on the journey itself more than the destination, it covers the dangers that you may face, but also the courage you will find in the face of adversity

‘It Gets Cold’ is taken from their forthcoming debut album, due for release on April 8th on Capitol Records. The album also includes the broody string-laden ‘I’m On Your Side’ and the commanding force of ‘Oxygen’, plus fan favourites that have long been part of the band’s live set, among them ‘Brother’s Boat’, album opener ‘Friends’ and ‘Upon The North’.

Friends’ is the latest single to be lifted from their eponymously-titled debut album. The track follows previous Radio 1 play-listed singles ‘Lion’s Heart’, which ‘led to roaring singalongs at festivals (The Telegraph) and ‘It Gets Cold’ (The Independent hard to get away from its magnetic groove”)

During the making of the album, the band decamped to Nashville to work with three times Grammy Award-winning producer Jacquire King (Kings Of LeonOf Monsters and Men, James Bay).

We wanted to get out of London, get away from distractions and concentrate on making the songs as good as they could be

says frontman James Kellegher

Having previously supported the likes of ParamoreImagine Dragons and AWOLNATION, last year they completed a string of support dates with Twin Atlantic including a 10,000 capacity sold out show at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro, Brixton Academy and Manchester Albert Hall as well as their own headline date at a packed out London KOKO. The band have now announced a pre-album launch show at the Islington Assembly Hall on April 7th and shows in Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester and Glasgow too.

Eliza And The Bear will be at HMV in the bullring on Wednesday 13th April 5:15pm where they will be performing a live acoustic set and signing copies of the record for fans.
