2019 is a huge year for Birmingham Airport as it’s celebrating its 80th anniversary. And a birthday wouldn’t be complete without a party, so to commemorate the very special occasion, the airport is hosting a free family festival in Sheldon Country Park and you’re invited!

Birmingham Airport Fest is just one of the many events that the airport is hosting as part of its anniversary celebrations. Other events have included a staff party, becoming the headline sponsor of Solihull Summer Fest in Tudor Grange, and a year-long Principal Partnership of Birmingham Royal Ballet to support its Dance Tracks and Freefall dance companies.
And as part of the anniversary year, the airport is asking for stories from the community on their memories of the airport over the years. Working with Free Radio, it’s encouraging people to share their holiday memories, work memories or simply their memories of living and growing up near to Birmingham Airport.
