Here are the best things happening in Birmingham this week!

It’s looking like another fantastic week in the city! From food and drink festivals to unmissable theatre shows and even brand new fashion collections, you won’t want to miss a thing. Here are our top five things to see, do and discover in Birmingham.

Birmingham Film Festival | Brindleyplace | Monday – Friday

Always an absolute favourite of ours – when the weather’s being kind – Brindleyplace Film Festival kicks off on Monday and this year’s theme is…musicals!

Throughout the week you’ll be able to watch everything from classics such as the Sound of Music through to The Greatest Showman and Moulin Rouge! as they all return to the big screen. There are bean bags and deck chairs, but feel free to bring along you own and make yourself comfy. Plus all the local bars and restaurants will be serving up delicious food and drink for you to enjoy as you sit back about enjoy the movie.

The Color Purple | Birmingham Hippodrome | Tuesday – Saturday

Want to enjoy a night at the theatre? Birmingham Hippodrome is welcoming The Color Purple the Musical from Tuesday until Saturday and you won’t want to miss it. Following on from the hit movie and the Broadway production, The Color Purple the Musical is based on pulitzer prize-winning novel by Alice Walker.

Pravha Food Market Pop Up | Centenary Square | Thursday – Friday

Here’s an end of week treat for you, premium beer brand Pravha is currently touring the UK with a pop-up food market that’s heading to Centenary Square on Thursday and Friday. More than just pints of beer, this pop-up will be offering a range of funky beer-themed delights including pilsner nitro sorbet to wasabi and pickled ginger meringues.

Probably one of the coolest things is the Edible Bubble Volcano, where you can attempt to catch hundreds of the falling bubbles on your tongue that offer the taste of the unexpectedly crisp, light tasting Prahva like never before! We’ll see you there for a post-work tipple with a twist?

Bvlgari pop-up | Selfridges | Now – August 25

Hitting the shops this week? There’s never been a better time to head to Selfridges to update your wardrobe with a range of gorgeous accessories at the Bvlgari pop-up, including pices from the brand new Cinemagia High Jewellry Collection.

Inspired by the silver screen, the stunning Cinemagic Collection, which offers 200 stunning pieces, will take you on a journey through time to the enchanting Italian Riviera in the 60s, where movie producers and stars gather together to idle in the summer sunshine.

Alongside a range of must-have jewellery pieces, the pop-up will also feature Bvlgari’s iconic Serpenti Tubogas, as well as a worldwide preview of two necklaces from the brand’s best-selling line: Divas’ Dream.

Independent Birmingham Food Festival | Aston Hall | Saturday & Sunday

Prepare to fill your bellies, the Independent Food Festival returns to Aston Hall this weekend, where you can sample some of the very best food and drink from the fantastic independent businesses from across Birmingham.

Alongside mouth-watering food and drink, you’ll also be able to enjoy live entertainment from local bands and musicians who will be rocking out on the main stage across both days.
