With the pressures of work, family and social life, we all deserve a little bit of ‘me’ time.
Monday, May 13 marks the beginning of Mental Health Awareness Week, so there’s never been a better time to take a step back from your hectic lifestyle.
Whether that’s taking a trip to the cinema, indulging in a delicious meal or treating yourself to a bit of retail therapy, taking the time to relax and unwind does wonders for our wellbeing.
And if you’re scratching your head, wondering where in the city you can enjoy all of the above under one roof, then we have the perfect solution.
During Mental Health Awareness Week (May 13 – 19), and across the rest of the month, Resorts World Birmingham is spreading some feel-good factor throughout the building by hosting a range of events and activities to help wash away any stress or worries.
Looking for somewhere to kick back and relax for a minute or two? From Wednesday 15 until Sunday 16, head to the specially designed Zen Zone opposite New Balance, where you’ll be able to sink into a cosy bean bag, sip on a free green tea from Holland & Barrett and pick up a copy of The Happy News.
Feeling tense? Then on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 May, join Resorts World during its Feel Good Weekender and take part in a yoga class held inside the Zen Zone for some serious downtime.
Lead by Yoga Sweat, eight lessons on different varieties of yoga will be taking place across the weekend.
Classes cost just £5 with all proceeds going LoveBrum, a city-based charity that is supporting local mental health causes during May. Just click here to book your space.
Once you’ve completed your class, why not treat yourself to a chocolate bon bon at Tuk Cakes pop-up, created by Great British Bake Off finalist, Darryl Collins. You can also pick up a framed Feel Good print, with all proceeds once again going towards LoveBrum.
Top off your evening with a visit to Resorts World’s luxurious Cineworld cinema, where you can catch a screening of the incredible Avengers: Endgame in the cinema’s IMAX screen, or the brand new Tolkien movie starring Nicholas Holt and Lily Collins.
And, if you visit the Atrium at 3pm, 4pm and 5pm on Saturday May 18, you can catch an Elton John in as he performs some the hits live at his piano ahead of the release of the biopic, Rocketman, starring Taron Egerton on May 22.
There’s also plenty of fantastic live entertainment taking place across the weekend, too. You can check out the full line-up, plus take a look at everything else that’s happening during Resort World’s Feel Good Weekender, here.
