Ah, the sun is shining and we’re feeling rested, recharged and ready for another busy week. As always, there are plenty of great things happening across Birmingham, from food festivals to pub quizzes and everything in between.
But incase you’re stuck for ideas, here’s this week’s round-up of the best things to see, do and discover across the city.
Avengers: Endgame + quiz | Mockingbird | Monday
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last three weeks, you’ll be aware that the final Avengers film has finally hit the big screen.
On Monday, Mockingbird Cinema & Kitchen is hosting an Avengers-themed quiz, followed by a screening of the final instalment, Avengers: Endgame.
The event kicks off at 6.30pm for pre-drinks in the bar, followed by the quiz at 7pm – where you could bag yourself a £50 gift card for coming first – followed by a screening of the movie.
Rocky Horror Show | Alexandra Theatre | Monday – May 25
Let’s do the time warp again… The Rocky Horror Show is back on tour and taking over the Alexandra Theatre for the next two weeks.
It’s been a few years since Richard O’Brien’s cult classic was in the city, but now it’s back with a brand new cast including A1’s Ben Adams, Duncan James and former Strictly Come Dancing champion, Joanne Clifton.
The Birmingham crowd is in for a special treat too, as local lass Alison Hammond will also be taking on the role of The Narrator, exclusively for performances at the Alex.
Hailed by critics’ across the country, tickets for Rocky Horror are on sale now. Just click here to book yours.
Feel Good Weekender | Resorts World Birmingham | All Week
We all need a bit of ‘me’ time every now and again. This week, as part of Mental Health Awareness Week, Resort World Birmingham is giving customers the chance to escape the hustle and bustle of day to day life and enjoy a little downtime.
From Wednesday (15) to Sunday (19), Resorts World is opening its very own Zen Zone opposite New Balance, where you’ll be able to sink into a cosy bean bag, sip on a free green tea from Holland & Barrett and pick up a copy of The Happy News.
And on Saturday (18) and Sunday (19) it’s teaming up with Yoga Sweat to offer a range of classes for guests to take part in. Held within the Zen Zone, tickets for classes cost £5, with all profits going to LoveBrum.
There’s plenty of other things happening as part of the Feel Good Weekender, too. You can find out more book your yoga class by clicking here.
The Paperdolls Market | Custard Factory | Saturday
Heading out for a shopping trip this weekend? Make sure you pop into the Custard Factory as The Paperdolls Market is back in town for its summer market.
This fabulous little market – which is one of our favourites here in the Style HQ – is packed with independent stalls selling everything from crafts to jewellery and prints. There will even be a range of workshops taking place for you to get creative.
Whether you’re looking to inject some personality or add a unique touch to your home, this is the place to be. Plus, it’s completely free to enter and you could even head to Digbeth Dining Club for some delicious food and drink after. Talk about a perfect Saturday.
The Independent Birmingham Festival | The Bond | Saturday & Sunday
We don’t know about you, but we’re so glad that the Independent Birmingham Festival is back at The Bond this weekend.
Filled with mouth-watering food and drink from some of our favourite independent traders, as well as performances from live bands and singers and a host of stalls to shop from, there’s no better way to kick off festival season in the city.
Even though tickets for Saturday have already sold out, there’s still time to grab yourself one for Sunday – but you’ll need to be quick as tickets are only £10!
With so much happening across the week – including Joe Lycett holding a very special shindig for the opening of his kitchen extension – this is an event you simply won’t want to miss!
