After two hugely successful stints at Birmingham Rep, the Olivier Award-winning Pride & Prejudice (Sort Of) is back—this time with a brand-new production directed by its original writer, Isobel McArthur.

Pride & Prejudice (Sort Of) runs at The Rep from Monday 3 – Saturday 8 February

This wildly entertaining retelling of Jane Austen’s classic love story puts a fresh, irreverent spin on the timeless tale. Men, money and microphones are fiercely fought over in this sharp, affectionate adaptation where love and status are very much on the line. Expect a soundtrack packed with pop classics, including Young Hearts Run Free, Will You Love Me Tomorrow, and You’re So Vain. It’s the 1800s, it’s party time – let the ruthless matchmaking begin. A winner of both The Evening Standard and Olivier Awards, McArthur has earned widespread acclaim for her bold and inventive storytelling.

Bringing the mayhem to life is a stellar cast, including Rhianna McGreevy (The Winter’s Tale, Shakespeare’s Globe) as Mrs Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy, Naomi Preston Low (Further Than the Furthest Thing, Minack Theatre) as Elizabeth Bennet, and Eleanor Kane (Fun Home, Young Vic) as Lydia Bennet and Mr Gardiner. They’re joined by Emma Rose Creaner (Peter Pan, Gate Theatre, Dublin) as Charlotte Lucas and Charles Bingley, alongside Christine Steel (A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Scottish National Orchestra) as Jane Bennet and Lady Catherine de Bourgh.
