The team at Harvey Nichols has created a striking window display in the Mailbox to showcase talent from some of this year’s Fashion Design BA (Hons) graduates, from Birmingham City University.
Inspired by a catwalk event hosted by Birmingham City University in Digbeth, the Harvey Nichols team chose a collection of work by graduates Rong Cherry Xing, Leia Groom, Jayd Cousins, Abigail Buckland and Sophie Vincent.
Constantine Tziambazis, Sales Manager at Harvey Nichols Birmingham said: “With thousands of people about to explore our city over the Commonwealth Games, we felt passionate about providing a platform for Birmingham’s emerging fashion designers to exhibit their latest creations. We have been so impressed by the quality of work this year’s graduates have produced and have loved building the window display. We wish them all the very best of luck as they enter into the fashion industry.”
Birmingham City University Fashion Design Lecturer Elizabeth Burton said: “The work produced by this year’s graduates has been of an exceptionally high standard, and their passion has shone through!”
Birmingham City University Fashion Design Graduate Jayd Cousins added: “It’s an absolute honour to share a snippet of my collection on a platform as prestigious as Harvey Nichols and represent upcoming fashion talent in Birmingham. I’m really excited to see my work displayed in the same space as some of the most influential names in fashion.”
The eye-catching showcase will be on display in the Mailbox on the main concourse level 2, until the end of August.
