Nestled atop the vibrant Resorts World complex, Sky Bar & Restaurant is a hidden gem, providing a luxurious backdrop for an exceptional afternoon tea. The expansive urban skyline offers a dramatic backdrop for an indulgent tea affair.
Our arrival was met with exceptional hospitality, setting the perfect tone for our visit. The ambience exudes contemporary elegance, highlighted by floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the space with natural light. This complements the chic decor and an impressive array of ambient lights, transforming the space into an inviting oasis.
The afternoon tea menu offered a variety of choices, and we opted for both the traditional and ploughman’s versions, each complementing the other beautifully. The latter included pastrami sandwiches, pork pie, mature cheddar, and a delectable cheese scone, accompanied by caramelised onion chutney. Additionally, it included steak ridge cut crisps, a chocolate brownie slice topped with a chunk of Yorkie, and to top off the indulgence a serving of chocolate M&M’s.
Conversely, the traditional afternoon tea featured an array of delicate finger sandwiches, including smoked salmon and cream cheese, egg mayonnaise, cucumber, ham & Dijon, along with traditional scones and an assortment of sweets such as lemon posset, macarons, chocolate caramel slice, and fruit sponge. The warm, freshly baked scones served with clotted cream and preserves were exquisite, perfectly complementing the pastry selection, offering a delightful medley of textures and flavours.
As customary for afternoon tea, a diverse selection of teas accompanies the experience, and guests can enhance their visit by opting for the cocktail option at £29.95pp or other choices including mocktails, gin, Champagne, a wine flight, or go bottomless from £45.95 and enjoy 90 minutes of unlimited drinks. What notably elevated our visit were the exceptional cocktails. We savoured the exquisite Chocolate Hazeltini with Bombay Gin, vermouth, white chocolate, and hazelnut, and the Blood Orange Sour-otto featuring amaretto, Cointreau, blood orange, pomegranate, lemon, chocolate, and egg white. Both were impeccably mixed and tasted delightful. Additionally, the perfectly chilled glass of Champagne added an extra touch of delight.
The afternoon tea at Sky Bar & Restaurant offers a unique setting that perfectly complements their menu. The fusion of delectable treats, impeccable service, and wonderful views creates an unforgettable escape. It truly stands as a must-visit destination for those seeking a distinctive afternoon tea.
