When French artist Alan Reullier rescued rare blueprints of Land Rover, Leyland, Triumph, MG and vintage Minis from the scrap heap, he didn’t just save Midlands motoring history, he transformed it into striking, contemporary artworks.

Wed 5 – Sat 22 November 2025, The Courtyard Gallery, Solihull

Now showcased at The Courtyard Gallery, Solihull, this free exhibition transforms engineering heritage into vibrant visual storytelling, where the precision of technical drawings meets the energy of pop art.

Reullier, who has collaborated with industrial and aerospace innovators including Dassault, Iveco and Faiveley Transport, works within the margins of these original blueprints, filling negative space with bold geometric patterns that celebrate the craftsmanship of Midlands engineers. From spray-painting Parisian walls in his youth to serving eleven years in the French Navy and Air Force as a chief aircraft mechanic, Reullier’s journey is one of transformation and creative evolution. Influenced by Arte Povera and Readymade art, he champions the idea that “there is no such thing as rubbish,” turning reclaimed materials into modern masterpieces.

“It’s an honour to collaborate with British Motor Heritage and contribute my artistic vision to their legacy,” Reullier says. “I’m inspired by the chance to push the boundaries of automotive design and create something unique that resonates with all audiences.”
