Professor Jimmy Choo, the luxury footwear pioneer, today announces he will be holding a Q&A at the first virtual Discovery Day for the JCA | London Fashion Academy.
Taking place on Saturday 27th March, the online forum provides an opportunity for prospective students to find out what life could be like at London’s newest and most dynamic fashion academy.
The Academy, which announced its launch in January to global fanfare, has been established through a shared ambition of Professor Choo and his founding team. Situated in Mayfair, and on track to become the UK’s newest university exclusively dedicated to fashion, the Academy seeks to revolutionise higher education. It will combine the latest teachings in contemporary fashion design with commercial incubation, providing students with the skills and behaviours needed to become successful designer entrepreneurs. JCA’s ultimate goal is to seek out and nurture the next wave of fashion pioneers, developing world leading fashion designers of the future.
Prospective students attending the two-hour virtual Discovery Day will be able to meet the team behind the JCA, to discover more about the Foundation, Degree and Masters courses available and to learn more about the kind of immersive student experience that the Academy is wanting to be known for.
The Discovery Day will also be attended by Professor Jimmy Choo. Alongside demonstrations of how he sketches his famous footwear creations, the iconic designer will host a Q&A, taking questions from the audience about his journey to become an international fashion designer.
“Education has always been important to me. It was something instilled in me by my parents from an early age”, comments Professor Jimmy Choo, OBE. “Launching the JCA means I now have the opportunity to give back and support the next generation of designers. Since announcing the Academy, we have received interest from across the globe and the Discovery Day will be the first opportunity for me to meet students who might want to join us for this coming September.”
The Academy is currently taking direct applications for September 2021 and students can apply even if they have submitted their UCAS choices and are holding offers elsewhere.
