One of the great joys of Covid restrictions being lifted is the chance to indulge in the city’s world class arts offerings again, and this coming autumn season proves no exception. Birmingham’s iconic Symphony Hall and Town Hall – both B:Music venues – have unveiled an exciting programme of music throughout October, from 80s jazz fusion stars Level 42 to singer-songwriter Billy Bragg via West African Griot and Irish folk.

Level 42 – October 15: The band’s From Eternity to Here tour marks the 40th anniversary of the release of their first ever single Love Meeting Love and will see them reaching into a back catalogue that includes 14 studio albums, seven live albums and six compilation albums. With super talented bassist Mark King at the helm, they’ve notched up an impressive 18 Top 40 singles, including the era-defining Lessons in Love, Something About You and Running in the Family. Billy Bragg – October 28: Fearless recording artist, tireless live performer and left-wing campaigner … the singer songwriter has been at the very forefront of political music for more than 35 years.
