In collaboration with Mahirs Experience, this promises to be an evening of naan-stop fun and flavour!

Mark your calendars for Friday, 18th October, as Birmingham’s Botanical Gardens transforms into the ultimate curry battleground. This black-tie fundraising extravaganza invites curry connoisseurs to turn up the heat and compete for the prestigious title of Curry King or Queen.
Birmingham’s business community is encouraged to assemble their dream team and work alongside professional chefs from Mahirs Experience to whip up the perfect curry. But hold onto your aprons—the judging panel is impressive. Expect a taste showdown with culinary titan Glynn Purnell from Purnells, Anita Champaneri, MD of Delicious PR, Rai Singh, creative director of Pushkar Cocktail Bar and Dining, Harriet Giles from Dishoom, self-confessed curry addict Guranisha Shergill from BBC Asian Network, and Andrew Riley, Editor of STYLE Birmingham.
After indulging in a delightful array of dishes, they’ll score each entry. The team with the highest score gets the crown, while the team with the lowest will proudly take home a humorous wooden spoon.

LoveBrum’s mission is clear: to raise funds for grassroots initiatives that genuinely improve lives across Birmingham. The charity was established to uncover those hidden gems that often go unnoticed. Every month, members vote to support a local cause in need, and the Curry King of Birmingham event aims to rally the business community behind these unsung heroes.
Tim Andrews, co-founder of LoveBrum, shared, “This event not only supports a great cause but also provides businesses with the chance to network, collaborate, and showcase Birmingham’s culinary talent. The funds raised will directly benefit local charities that play an essential role in tackling the serious challenges our city faces.”
