This past International Women’s Day weekend, the Bullring wasn’t just a shopping destination – it became a powerhouse of empowerment, transformation, and joy, all thanks to Lu Featherstone (aka Luinluland).
The creative force and self-proclaimed “accidental middle-aged influencer” led a game-changing “Women Unleashed” event that left attendees buzzing with confidence and a renewed sense of self.

Lu Featherstone (aka Luinluland) – The creative force and self-proclaimed “accidental middle-aged influencer.”
Over two high-energy days, the space pulsed with inspiring workshops, candid conversations, and a supportive sisterhood. Women from all walks of life came together to embrace self-worth, personal growth, and joy—without apology.

A Lineup of Powerhouses
The event’s speaker roster was nothing short of stellar. Laura (Knee Deep In Life), Ronke Fashola, Tash Balstrode, SJ Maxwell, and Taban Soresh OBE shared their insights on everything from self-love and authentic living to financial empowerment and resilience.
Beyond the inspiring talks, the weekend was packed with practical, hands-on experiences designed to empower attendees on multiple levels. Women had the opportunity to receive breast health checks with Thermacheck, gain expert beauty tips through makeup and skincare masterclasses, and take part in “Find Your Voice” workshops, where they learned to step into their power with confidence.

Stepping Outside Comfort Zones
And then came the real challenge: stepping into a new level of self-acceptance. Women were invited to become underwear models for a day, posing in an empowering photoshoot with Y.O.U Ethical Underwear, captured by photographer Sassy. This bold moment wasn’t just about the photos- it was about reclaiming confidence, body positivity, and self-love on a whole new level.
Each day wrapped up with a celebratory Happy Hour, soundtracked by DJ Olive Sterling, bringing an electrifying close to a weekend of transformation.

“We Need More of This”
Reflecting on the event’s success, Lu shared:
“This weekend was about breaking limits and unlocking true potential. Seeing so many women come together, share their stories, and leave feeling ready to take on the world was truly incredible.
We need more spaces like this – more real connections, more genuine empowerment. We’re taking International Women’s Day back to its roots, making it a force for real progress.”

The Bullring’s Commitment to Inclusivity
The event, hosted in partnership with the Bullring, is part of its ongoing mission to create an inclusive, welcoming space for all. Danielle Bozward, Marketing and Placemaking Manager at the Bullring, expressed her enthusiasm for the collaboration:
“It’s amazing to have Lu back at the Bullring and to share this space with such brilliant and inspiring women. We worked with Lu last year for our Self-Love Sanctuary, and I knew we needed her back to celebrate International Women’s Day in true Bullring fashion.”
With events like “Women Unleashed,” Luinluland is proving that empowerment isn’t just a buzzword – it’s an action. And if this weekend was any indication, the revolution is just getting started.
