Birmingham has a new addition to its wellness landscape. Neko Health has opened its first Health Centre in the city, bringing its cutting-edge approach to preventive healthcare to the West Midlands and marking a major step in the company’s UK expansion.
Located at 10 Livery Street, just minutes from Snow Hill Station, the new centre officially opens today and follows a surge in demand for proactive, data-driven health checks. Neko Health delivered six times more scans in 2025 than in 2024, and now has over 300,000 people worldwide on its waitlist, reflecting a growing shift toward prevention rather than treatment.
Founded by Hjalmar Nilsonne and Spotify CEO Daniel Ek, Neko Health was created to rethink how we engage with our health focusing on early detection, insight and long-term wellbeing.
“We’re building a completely new healthcare experience, one that puts prevention first,” said Hjalmar Nilsonne, CEO and Co-Founder of Neko Health.
“The response across the UK has been incredible, and Birmingham in particular showed huge demand. We’re excited to bring Neko to the city and make preventive healthcare more accessible in the region.”
At the centre of the experience is the Neko Body Scan, a 60-minute, non-invasive and radiation-free health check, priced at £299. Using advanced sensors alongside blood analysis, the scan captures millions of health data points in one seamless visit.

It assesses:
Skin health, including moles and marks
Blood sugar levels and pre-diabetes risk
Blood abnormalities
Risk factors linked to heart disease, stroke and metabolic health

Results are available within minutes and discussed in person with a medical professional, giving members clear, personalised insights they can act on straight away. The entire experience takes under an hour and nearly 80% of members choose to book their next scan in advance, a testament to its popularity.
According to Dr Nikita Kanani, Global Medical Director at Neko Health, early detection can make a meaningful difference.
“So often, health issues are identified too late,” she said.
“Being able to assess multiple risk factors in a single, non-invasive visit allows us to spot concerns earlier and support people before problems escalate.”
Data from Neko Health’s clinics shows that while the majority of members use the scan to establish a healthy baseline, nearly one in five require follow-up care and a small but significant number receive potentially life-saving interventions.
