This season is all about Summer Sounds on Greenfield Crescent featuring an irresistible mix of food, drink and live music. Every Saturday afternoon from 3pm to 6pm (excluding market days), enjoy free performances curated by Top Bar Music, one of Birmingham’s champions of musical talent.
The laid-back summer series takes place across three of Edgbaston’s most popular venues – Chapter, Loki Wine, and Smoke + Ash – each offering its own unique ambiance and setting for an afternoon of tunes, tipples and tasty treats.
Stylish restaurant and bar Chapter has fast become a neighbourhood favourite, thanks to its modern menu that champions local produce and its chic interiors . There’s also a front terrace that catches the sunshine and a courtyard perfect for long lunches. Performers this summer include Banners Gate on June 21st, Raf on July 26th, Dan Lewis on August 2nd, and Sam Strachan on August 30th.
Just across the road, there’s Loki Wine – the award-winning bar and merchant. This go-to for wine lovers and craft beer fans offers relaxed seating and shelves lined with handpicked bottles. Tucked away at the back is an outdoor terrace that makes a cosy spot to sip and soak up the music. Loki will host Raf on June 7th and again on August 16th, with Dan Lewis on July 5th.
Next door, Smoke + Ash blends buzzy Neapolitan-style pizza with a slick but chilled interior that draws in everyone from lunching locals to weekend foodies. Known for its blistered crusts, bold toppings and clever seasonal cocktails, it’s a fantastic place to catch a live act over a cold drink and a slice. It offers a lively backdrop for performers such as Honor and Jamie on June 28th, and Banners Gate on July 19th and August 23rd.
For Top Bar Music’s Ben Drummond, Summer Sounds is all about showcasing tomorrow’s talent in spaces that bring people together. “We have always been about spotlighting incredible, original talent, and this collaboration with Edgbaston Village allows us to do just that in a truly vibrant, community-focused setting. Whether you’re here for a drink, dinner or simply to discover new music, you’ll be experiencing the next generation of artists who are shaping the UK music scene.”
