There are December weekends… and then there are December weekends that feel like a gift in themselves. We’ve teamed up with Edgbaston Village and Birmingham Royal ballet to offer one lucky STYLE Birmingham reader the chance to enjoy a truly magical pre-Christmas escape for two.
Your prize weekend begins on Saturday December 13th in Edgbaston, and it’s one designed to fill you with Christmas spirit. Check-in to The High Field Town House and take a stroll to the Edgbaston Artisan Market, which takes over Greenfield Crescent with local makers, food stalls and gift ideas. It’s the perfect place to pick up a few last-minute presents or simply enjoy the atmosphere.
Then you can start to your evening with a bit of sparkle at Loki, where you and your guest will enjoy a glass of Champagne each. Your next stop is Chapter, one of Edgbaston’s most popular restaurants, where a three-course set menu for two awaits.
From there, you’ll make your way to Birmingham Hippodrome to take your seats for the closing night of Birmingham Royal Ballet’s The Nutcracker. A tradition in the city since 1990, the production has everything you want from a December evening – sweeping music, swirling snowflakes and a story that has captivated audiences for more than a century. With the Royal Ballet Sinfonia playing Tchaikovsky’s iconic score live, it’s a performance that wraps you in atmosphere from the first note to the last.
After the final curtain, return to The High Field Town House for a luxurious overnight stay. This boutique gem sits in the heart of Edgbaston Village and blends elegance with relaxed comfort. On Sunday morning, you’ll enjoy a delicious breakfast before heading home, feeling a little more rested and a lot more festive.
