Presented in partnership with The Goths Playground and the Zellig Building, longtime champions of Digbeth’s cultural scene the Market Place is a must-visit for anyone seeking unique, handmade, and one-of-a-kind goods.
A Celebration of Independent and Alternative Culture
The Market Place has become a hub for independent creativity, showcasing Birmingham’s alternative scene. Visitors can explore rare vinyl records, zines, prints, and illustrations, alongside quirky handmade items that reflect the city’s dynamic arts community. The event embodies the energy and innovation that have made Digbeth a cultural hotspot.
This year’s edition features an eclectic mix of vendors, including Black Raven’s taxidermy-floristry fusion, Steel Kill’s stainless steel chainwear, and Dean of The Dead’s horror-themed hot sauces. Fans of DIY culture can enjoy Black Lodge Press’s zines on queer and working-class history, while Boulderdash Zine explores stones, drones, and noise. Visitors will also find artist Bunny Bissoux, independent label Mute Records, vintage-inspired fashion from Miss Goodweather, and handcrafted crochet gifts from Buffs Studio, with more exciting names still to be announced.

Guests can join craft sessions with Craftspace Collective Shelanu, create block-printed protest banners with Natasha Taheem, or take part in a walk-in flash tattoo day hosted by House of Thieves Tattoo.
