What will Birmingham look like in 2050?
A greener, smarter city? A cultural powerhouse? Or something entirely unexpected?
A bold new campaign is asking you to decide…
A city-wide call to create
Birmingham 2050 invites people across the region to share their vision of the future. Whether you are an artist, student, business owner, or simply someone who loves the city, this is your chance to get involved.
From painting and poetry to music, film and digital design, the brief is wide open. If you can create it, you can submit it.
The focus is simple: big ideas and bold imagination.

Why now?
Birmingham is changing fast. Major developments, new infrastructure and a growing cultural scene are reshaping the city. This campaign captures that energy and turns it into something powerful: a shared vision for the future. Young people are at the heart of it. Their ideas will help shape the Birmingham of tomorrow.
How to get involved
You can submit your ideas now via the online platform.
Entries will remain open until just before the summer holidays, giving you plenty of time to refine your vision. A curated selection of submissions will then be showcased in a major public exhibition and live event this September, also hosted at Millennium Point. Expect an inspiring celebration of Birmingham’s creativity, featuring live performances, a mural artist and a diverse range of ideas from across the region.
As Abbie Vlahakis, CEO of Millennium Point, puts it:
“Birmingham has always been a city of makers and thinkers. Birmingham 2050 is about giving people permission to imagine what comes next and to share that openly.”
Be part of the future
Optimistic, inclusive and forward-thinking, Birmingham 2050 is more than just a campaign. It is an open invitation to help shape the story of the city.
Ready to be part of it? Find out more and submit your vision at birmingham2050.co.uk
Entries close 17th July.
