Love, magic and a little bit of fairy-tale sparkle … what better way to celebrate the season of romance than with Birmingham Royal Ballet’s enchanting production of Cinderella.

This February, Sir David Bintley’s much-loved Cinderella returns to its home stage at Birmingham Hippodrome with its spectacular mix of dance, comedy and theatrical wonder.

Cinderella is a must-see during its limited run from February 19th to March 1st.

This celebrated interpretation first dazzled audiences when it premiered in the city in 2010. Now, 15 years later, it remains one of Birmingham Royal Ballet’s most breathtaking productions, renowned for its sumptuous sets, dazzling costumes and a spellbinding score performed live by the Royal Ballet Sinfonia. So, whether you’re planning the perfect date night, a family half-term outing or simply looking to immerse yourself in the beauty of classical ballet, here are five reasons Cinderella is a must-see during its limited run from February 19th to March 1st.

A Love Story Brought To Life

At its heart, Cinderella is the ultimate love story – a tale of finding your happily ever after. As Valentine’s Day approaches, there’s no better time to indulge in a night of romance, where Prokofiev’s evocative score swells as Cinderella and her Prince glide across the stage in a moment of pure magic.

For an extra-special experience, ballet fans will have the chance to see former BRB Soloist and now Royal Ballet Principal Dancer Principal Dancer William Bracewell guest star as The Prince alongside Momoko Hirata on February 20th and 22nd.

A Half-Term Family Treat

With a playful mix of humour, breathtaking visuals and a cast of enchanting characters – including mice, lizards and even a dancing frog – Cinderella is a perfect introduction to ballet for younger audiences. If you’re looking for a memorable half-term activity that’s a little different from the usual cinema trip, this enchanting production offers an unforgettable family-friendly experience.

A Spectacular Visual Feast

The set and costumes are created by acclaimed designer John Macfarlane – best known for his exquisite work on BRB’s The Nutcracker. From Cinderella’s shimmering ballgown to the grand palace interiors, every scene is a feast for the eyes. Expect breathtaking transformations, dazzling choreography and a pumpkin that turns into something truly magical.

Inclusive Performance For All Audiences

A specially adapted Relaxed Performance of Cinderella will take place on Tuesday February 25th at 12.45pm. Designed for audiences who may find traditional theatre settings challenging, this includes a welcoming introduction to the story and characters, adjusted lighting and sound, and a relaxed atmosphere where everyone is free to enjoy the show at their own pace.

See One of BRB’s Largest Productions

As one of the biggest classical productions in BRB’s repertoire, Cinderella doesn’t come around often – so this is a golden opportunity to witness it in its full glory. With just 14 performances across 11 days, expect an evening of timeless storytelling and artistic excellence. Following its UK tour, BRB will be taking the name of Birmingham to Japan, where Cinderellawill be performed at Tokyo’s Bunka Kaikan.
