THE GRUFFALO: December 27-January 15

If you’ve got kids then we bet our bottom dollar you’ve read and re-read this tale endless times. So leave it to the professionals and treat the little ones (and the grown-ups too) to the premier of this latest inclusive adaptation. Award-winning theatre company Tall Stories incudes both hearing and deaf actors who blend spoken English, British Sign Language and dynamic visual storytelling to ensure everyone can enjoy Julia Donaldson’s original words together.

Director Toby Mitchell, who has worked alongside deaf Associate Director Emily Howlett, says: “It has been exciting working with deaf and hearing actors to reimagine our production of The Gruffalo. I am looking forward to seeing the new life and joy that this process will breathe into the existing, much-loved show. I’m so pleased that we will reach as wide an audience as possible – it really will be for everyone.”

All performances are relaxed, providing a welcoming and inclusive environment which can be enjoyed by all. They allow for some noise and movement in the auditorium, re-entry when needed and a chill-out space, and are accessible for those with learning disabilities.
